A good number of models from the region have potential to succeed in the modelling industry at national and international levels. Despite all this potential they have always fell short because of lack of basic knowledge of the technicalities of the industry, cutting short their careers due to frustration. Sunset Sands (Pty) Ltd saw this disadvantage mostly through their proprietor Portia S Sam, who had to fight the huddles even though it was not easy she pulled through to the international stages.
Twenty models were identified from Maun to attend the workshop. The model workshop was structured with two days of interactive lectures under a conference setup and a third day of field photographic coaching and exposure. The focus of the workshop was enlighten the young models on the following areas, how to groom yourself as a model, social behaviour, types of modelling to help them choose their area of interest, catwalk and photographic skills
